We are so excited about the “29th Annual Mississippi Pecan Festival”. With this being our 29th year, we felt this would be a good year to offer you a trip for your youth group, Sunday School Class, ladies groups clubs or senior organization. Our show has been for 3 days beginning Friday. We hope this will give your group an opportunity to come out a day early and shop at your leisure and enjoy the atmosphere of the festival.
The 2016 MS Pecan Festival will have something for everyone. Arts and Crafts booths will have goods on sale and there will be live demonstrations with basket weaving, pottery, and bowl turning. On Friday, there will also be a quilt show, a living history homestead with demonstrations of lye soap making, butter churning, cow milking, biscuits being made and baked on a wood stove, don’t forget to visit the hen house and the Victory Garden. On Saturday, there will be the Purtiest Rooster Contest as roosters and handlers compete for the $100.00 bounty. The mule pull will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday and is always a crowd pleaser. Take time to come out and see the Stock Dog Demonstration and be thrilled by the sight of man and dog working together in harmony. Travel back in time as you hear the commotion of the Antique Engine Show out in the orchard. Enjoy weekend long Draft Horse demonstrations (plowing & hay raking) and Blue Grass Music.
The MS Pecan Festival is held at the Fulmer’s Pecan Orchard. Fulmer’s Pecan Orchard is located six miles south of Richton, MS on Wingate Road. Please see the enclosed map and signs will be posted.
